SU 10037 represents a thin layer of mottled clay about 10-20 cm underneath SU 10035 and above cut SU 10038. SU 10037 possessed very little material culture, but did include ceramics and eco facts. SU 10037 was distinguished from the brown soil above it (SU 10035) and the red soil below it (SU 10038). The purpose of SU 10037 is unclear, but may have been to cover and smooth over the differentiation between the red soil and the fill SU 10038) of the cut (SU 10039) next to it.
