Burned ash layer
Interpretation
C625 is a posthole next to the wall (c601) which used to be a round wood stick to strengthen the wall. The diameter is about 0.4m and it's between c627 and c628 which are the other posthole next to the wall.
The soil is soft and powdery the soil between c627 and c625 is quite brown which is similar as c601. It's supposed to be the same material as the wall.(18.07.23).
After excavated it's a layer with lots of charcoal, the color of soil is gray and ashey .
it's a layer in c616,but not a posthole and connect with c628. The layer is also same as 628 627.
