Description

SU 10035 represents a compact orangey-brown layer underlying SU 10032 and SU 10016. SU 10035 extends from the lower basalt boulder east of the easternmost edge of trench 1000. SU 10035 had moderate amounts of cultural material and some small rocks, but no notable amounts of either. SU 10035 extended in an even layer of 20-30cm across the extent of the SU, coming down on the reddish soil underneath as well as the cut running through it (SU 10038 and SU 10039, respectively). SU 10035 seems to have been some sort of leveling fill, though its exact purpose remains unclear.
