Description

SU 10030 represents a loose, light brown layer of abandonment accumulation in the small portion of the southern room, which we have uncovered as a result of our excavations in Extension A. SU 10030 is located to the south of wall SU 10043 and west of wall SU 10047. SU 10030 was rich in cultural material and also contained a substantial number of stones; included in the material were several large pieces of a glass vessel with noteworthy appliqués. On walls SU 10043 and SU 10047, substantial portions of plaster were still attached to the stone, and were deftly articulated so that they currently remain there. SU 10030 lay on a poorly preserved packed earth surface, now being excavated as SU 10064. Overall, SU 10030 appears similar to the abandonment accumulation on the north side of wall SU 10043, although the presence of the glass noted above is an interesting addition.
