Description

en

SU 9026 represents a 3 centimeter deep layer of orangey-red, compacted, clay-ey, sandy soil with small plaster inclusions in Area D. SU 9026 was located directly beneath the large charcoal lens of SU 9021. Artifacts within SU 9026 were generally pot sherds and bones. We partially excavated SU 9026 before realizing it was a new layer and created a new SU for it. SU 9026 overlies the large square block in the northeastern corner of Area D just south of construction trench cut SU 9009. There were some portions of Area D that surface SU 9026 didn’t completely cover, notably along the east wall (WS_99).
