Description
Top soil disturbed by modern agricultural activities
Interpretation
After the excavating machine removed most of the top soil, we cleaned the loose soil of the surface. Areas of pinkish white natural soil were revealed. Also, refusal pits with large pieces of pottery and unidentified borders showed up, as well as a concentration of large stones on the western side. Pottery and bones were collected, some possibly human.
In order to explore the possibility of the existance of a pit, we expanded the trench on the south wall on the eastern side. Top soil extended 34cm deep and contained large CBM with imprints. When top soil was removed from the extension and the original trench, a white layer of natural soil with holes that formed a circular shape was revealed.
