SU 10024 (equal to SU 10011) represents a rock filled layer against the eastern face of the eastern north-south wall. SU 10024 fills an area from approximately the preserved top of the wall all the way down to the wall foundation course/earlier phase. We had wondered if this represented the fill of a construction trench for the north-south wall, but it appears more as if the rocks were piled against the wall when it was constructed rather than put into a construction trench. Within SU 10024 there was a high concentration of stones, even higher than in SU 10011, and in SU 10029 where the rocks stopped dramatically. SU 10024 was a very loose fill, and seems to be associated with the final construction phase of the building and the raising of the surface to the level of SU 10011.
