Toumba Serron site
The site a site of Toumba Serron, at the vicinity of the village of Toumba (Τούμπα), near Pentapoli (Πεντάπολη), Central Macedonia, Greece. The tell site itself is a large, finds-rich and important settlement, the survey of which started by the National Cheng Kung University in collaboration with the Greek Archaeological Service in October 2021. The tell site is c. 500 m North of the present-day village of Toumba. Our laboratory facilities will be based in the center of Toumba village, and our team accommodation will be based in Agio Pnevma. The first excavation season will start in June 2022. The Project is co-directed by Dr Dimitra Malamidou, director of the Ephoreia of Serres, Associate Prof. Nicolas Zorzin, from the National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan), and Dr. James Taylor from the University of York (UK).
