Description

en SU 9052 represents the northern wall of the so-called “Mr. Nice Guy” made up of finely finished saw-hewn sandstone blocks. The wall survives in 3 equal courses, with a single block possibly representing a fourth on its western end. The western end of the wall also has a substantial corner foundation block and, in the course above that corner foundation, a block with beveled edge at bottom that may be related to the ground level during the primary occupation phase of the structure. The eastern end of the wall appears to have been robbed out, as the wall ends abruptly at Drain 2 though has a single preserved foundation block in situ below that drain and its underlying soils. A block slightly removed from the eastern end of the wall may be a repurposed corner block, as it is of similar size and quality but is floating in the fill soils of later phase activity.
