10078 represents the bedrock in the southern room of the western walled structure, overlain by 10074. 10078 was cut by 10079, whose fill was the same as 10074. 10078 is relatively smooth compared to the other instances of bedrock in the trench, though on the southern side, several small basalt fragments are embedded in the sandstone.
