SU 8045 represents a dark brown layer with a few inclusions toward the top but more large rocky inclusions toward the bottom of the layer. SU 8045 was not to compact but sat loosely above a soil change to bright red, unincluded material (SU 8046). SU 8045 was not significantly different than the material of SU 8047, but it was sitting over 7cm higher than SU 8047 on the other side of the cut of SU 8023 so we do not think that they were equal.
