SU 8044 represents an arbitrary SU based on a slight soil change roughly 15cm from the expected bottom of cistern in area B (later determined to be at least another meter). SU 8044 was packed and mottled red with green clay and charcoal bits. Underling SU 8044, however, was more material which resembled 8030 and was aerated and dark with copious inclusions.
