SU 8042 represents a degraded surface and associated subfloor fill in the arbitrary window we created under surface SU 8021 in Area A. SU 8042 underlaid SU 8021 and possessed a yellowish surface and a thin subfloor fill over a few more patchy surfaces. SU 8042 was excavated carefully in the hopes of finding a more complete and sealed surface, and when one was uncovered right beneath SU 8042, a new level was called for SU 8043. Upon removal, SU 8042 seems to have been a quick patch job to the surface of SU 8043 and for this reason was likely completed in a relatively close timeframe to SU 8043 and SU 8021. As such, SU 8042 is also cut by SU 8023 and SU 8036, though it was not excavated far enough to the north to see if SU 8037 also cuts SU 8042.
Note for record: No photogrametry was taken intentionally, as it was not significantly different from the SUs that overlay SU 8042.
