SU 8017 represents a red layer of generic fill underlying SU 8015 in Area B. Trill 8017 was rusty in color and in many ways resembled the texture and material contents of SU 8014, which was overlying bedrock 8029 in the western portion of Area B. SU 8017 had fewer material inclusions than SU 8014, however, with some ceramic and few bones as well as a small bronze ring. SU 8017 also included small degraded sandstone chunks, roughly golfball to softball sized.
