Description

en SU 10055 represents a red subsurface fill overlying bedrock (SU?) and underlying a series of leveling fills. SU 10055 is located within the western walled structure. The bedrock exposed under SU 10055 is predominately white sandstone but with large bedrock boulders embedded in it. SU 10055 had minimal finds, with the handful of sherds coming from the very surface of SU 10055. Based on the lack of material culture within it, SU 10055 appears to be naturally occurring. It seems that, in antiquity, some of the red soil was scooped out, which formed small pits. These small pits were perhaps created to prospect the type of bedrock underneath.
