Description

Good overall bone representation. Arm position and cemetery stratigraphy suggest that the individual was buried in the Late Middle Ages (1300-1536). The grave is situated in quadrant X:5 of the excavation plan, layer “b”. The head of the grave is measured at +34.60 meters above sea level (masl) while the foot of the grave is measured at +34.55 masl. The grave is laid in a typical East-West orientation on top of the foundation of the Western church tower. No signs of a coffin.

Certainty of interpretation

high confidence

Interpretation

Male, 30.5 years with a 95% confidence interval of 22.4-39.3 years (TA3 analysis; SD=8.2, corr. 0.902), stature of 171.6 cm (Sjøvold, 1990). Good overall preservation of traits for analysis.
