Description

en SU 9042 represents the above ground portion of wall WS_99 along the eastern edge of Area D. The wall survives as three identally cut and finely faced limestone blocks dry-stacked atop foundation 9041. The blocks measure 100 x 100 x 40cm. The wall continues beyond the northern extent of trench 9000, with the northernmost block of 9042 only about 1/3rd exposed before being abutted by later wall WS_98. The blocks of 9042 bearing cuttings along their top surface, likely for no longer extant clamps. The rear (eastern) faces of the blocks of 9042 are much rougher in finish than the western faces.
