Description

en SU 10019 represents a greyish brown soil underlying topsoil SU 10017 in Extension A. SU 10019 underlied topsoil SU 10017 but overlaid the yellowish brown soil layer that usually denotes ancient contexts. SU 10019 is equivalent to SU 10002 excavated in the original length of the trench. SU 10019 contained moderate amounts of material culture and some small stones, but overall was empty relative to the layers underlying it. Under SU 10019 was the yellowish soil that covers the tops of the walls of the walled structure, equivalent to SU 10005. SU 10019 represents the long-form accumulation after the collapse of the building and abandonment of the site.
