Interpretation
The context 602 corresponds to an artificial layer - cleaning surface - between the topsoil/subsoil (c600) removed by the excavator and the last preserved layer of the burial (c609). From this soil, made of clayey silt with fine gravel of whitish limestones, a few finds have been retrieved (bone, pottery, CBM, shell and chipped stone). However, the finds from this area disturbed in surface by the mechanical digging and the modern ploughings, may have come from the above layer as well as the context c609 and the immediate surrounding areas.
