Top soil removal

Interpretation

Top soil removal of whole trench. Wet, brown, sandy/silt. Uncovered red clay with limestone inclusions (inclusions throughout) - interpreted as continuation of wall from last season, H8-99. Uncovered possible feature 1 - ashy stone that could possibly mark a burial. Depth 35-40cm dug by excavator. Excavator bucket: 60cm width, 50cm length, 40cm depth, 0.120 cubic m. Higher density of pottery to north of trench.
